Sipsmith Launches Sipspresso Coffee Gin

|

Sipsmith has unveiled the third release in its Sipping Series: Sipspresso Coffee Gin. Hitting shelves October 1, the new offering joins the previously released Strawberry Smash and Chilli & Lime variants.

To create Sipspresso. Sipsmith teamed up with specialty coffee company Pact Coffee. The gin uses the firm’s Fruit and Nut Espresso because it mixes Brazilian and Rwandan ground coffee beans, which are blended with cinnamon and fresh vanilla to produce a ‘full-bodied’ flavor. Sipsmith London Dry Gin acts as the spirit’s backbone.

“As with all of our innovative limited edition Sipping Series gins, we crafted Sipspresso Coffee Gin to our exact standards,” said Jared Brown, master distiller. “We ensured the same level of uncompromising commitment to quality and sustainability in our coffee supplier Pact Coffee who work with farmers from three continents to ethically source the finest ingredients for their premium coffee.”

“Layering Pact’s Brazilian and Rwandan ground coffee with cinnamon and fresh vanilla on top of our original London Dry Gin base creates a delightfully rich, warm and indulgent gin with a smooth and balanced finish,” says the brand.

On the nose, the gin offers velvety chocolate and coffee bean at the fore followed by rich liquorice and star anise. The palate delivers aniseed, which blends into warming chai latte balanced with cacao nib and vanilla. The finish tastes of spiced iced coffee with liquorice and absinthe undercurrents.

Bottled at 37.5% ABV, the gin is recommended served in a Sipspresso Martini, a twist on the classic Espresso Martini, or in a gin and tonic topped with orange zest.

Sipsmith Sipspresso Coffee Gin is available for £28.50 ($38.95 USD) in UK stores Tesco and Waitrose, as well as on Amazon and Sipsmith’s website.

In July, the London-based brand unveiled FreeGlider, a new alcohol-free spirit.

In April, Brown taught us how to best enjoy National Gin & Tonic Day, his first memories of the iconic drink, what goes into a bottle of Sipsmith, and how he likes to enjoy his own Gin & Tonic.
