Royal Salute Reveals 21 Year Old Signature Blend Lunar New Year Limited Edition

|

Royal Salute has unveiled a limited edition of its 21 Year Old Signature Blend to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The special release of the Whisky comes in an artistically illustrated gift pack. The vibrant red, creative outer packaging tells an intricate story of the traditions of the spring festival, intertwining symbols of good health and prosperity to create the ultimate gift to share with loved ones to welcome the Year of the Ox.

Gift giving is the foundation of Royal Salute, being first created as a gift for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Since its creation 67 years ago, the 21 Year Old Signature Blend has kept the same flavor profile.

The limited-edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend Lunar New Year gift pack brings to life the celebratory festival that sees cities around the world transform into bright and colourful displays of red and gold, with visions of lanterns, dragon puppets and firecrackers; an enthralling atmosphere that resonates with the enchanting world of the Pernod Ricard-owned brand.

The limited edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old Lunar New Year gift pack is available at selected luxury retailers for $135 USD.

Back in September, the Royal Salute 23 Year Old was named on of the 10 Best Scotch Whiskies In The World at the 2020 International Wine & Spirits Competition. “Beautifully crafted and refined; citrus marmalade on the nose with sweeter fudge character on the palate; then fresh oak and raisins on the finish,” wrote the judges.

That same month, the Royal Salute 21 Year Old and Royal Salute 25 Year Old were both awarded Double Golds at the International Spirits Challenge 2020.

Both Johnnie Walker and Glenfiddich are also releasing limited edition bottles for the 2021 Lunar New Year. The Johnnie Walker 2021 Blue Label Chinese New Year design was created by award-winning Chinese artist Shirley Gong. The Glenfiddich 2021 Lunar New Year bottle features the brand’s iconic Stag, known as Fu Lu in Mandarin, and celebrates his triumphant return home to Scotland.
