New Gin-Based Canned Cocktails Zaddy’s To Hit Californian Shelves

|

Zaddy’s is a new gin-based, low-alcohol, ready-to-drink, canned cocktail company founded in the San Francisco Bay Area. The beverage is now available all over California,  and it’s being distributed by RNDC.

Bridging the gap between hard seltzer and canned cocktails, Zaddy’s is introducing three drinks, with the health conscious drinker in mind. Never-before-seen in a can, the brand’s offerings are revamped cult classics.

Speaking on the drinks Zaddy Benham, co-founder of Zaddy’s said, “We couldn’t find any of our favorite gin cocktails in cans, so we decided to recreate low-alcohol, low-sugar versions of them in artful, recyclable packaging unlike anything else we’ve seen in the category.”

Crafted with organic ingredients, containing minimal alcohol, sugar, and calories the beverages are made with premium gin sourced from Sonoma and fresh juice from California farms, Zaddy’s commits to remaining free of all artificial flavors or high-fructose corn syrup.

At only 100 calories in each 12-ounce can, and containing no more than 3 grams of organic cane sugar this 4.5% ABV, gluten-free, drink is a real treat for mindful drinkers.

It’s priced at $11.99 for a four-pack and $2.99 a can. 12-packs and 24-packs are also available for purchase through the official website for $45.39 and $81.76 and can be shipped anywhere within California.

The three flavors are:

  • Corpse Reviver – a low-alcohol take on the cocktail, Corpse Reviver #2, this bartender’s favorite is rumored to “revive” drinkers from the pains of their hangover. The deep citrus notes mixed with fennel and nutmeg extract creates a complex flavor that’s the perfect “hair of the dog that bit you.
  • Gin Sonic – a lighter, low-sugar take on the popular Gin & Tonic—but with only a splash of tonic— with high ends of refreshing lime and mint.
  • Gin(ger) Fizz – pays homage to the classic Gin Fizz, but has been brightened with ginger and honey for a rejuvenating finish.

Zaddy’s promises to be focused on sustainability, and is redefining the waste-filled beverage space by using recyclable packaging. With labels by designed illustrator Lea Carey all branding is easily removable so the cans can avoid the landfill, and be properly recycled. Their 4-pack carriers are made from paperboard packaging that is less harmful than plastic and biodegradable.

Zaddy’s is keen to emphasize the importance of giving back to the community. They have joined 1% For the Planet and will give 1% of all proceeds to The Story of Stuff Project, a local non-profit fighting to correct environmental and social injustices. They are also members of Bay Area Made and are committed to developing partnerships with long-established Bay Area local businesses and organizations. Additionally, the company is fostering a larger sense of community around the brand through their love of movies, hiking, music, reading, art, and so much more—all of which can be seen on their Zlog.
