Napa’s Heitz Cellar Reopens With $1,000 Tasting Experience

|

Heitz Cellar in St Helena has opened its doors following a two-year-long remodeling of its tasting room, where visitors can indulge in a $1,000 top-tier wine tasting.

Known as the Vineyard to Bottle Experience, the memorable excursion for up to four includes wine, food, and scenic explorations. Revelers will have the unique opportunity to experience the winery’s biodynamic farm and Historic Stone Cellar, where wine has been continually crafted for nearly 130 vintages. They will then visit two iconic vineyards exclusive to Heitz Cellar, The Trailside Vineyard in Eastern Rutherford and the Linda Falls Vineyard on Howell Mountain, gaining a deeper understanding of the unique micro-climates of the Napa Valley. Finally, visitors will return to the tasting salon for a timeless experience, complete with current and library selections from the storied single-vineyards of Heitz Cellar.

Founded in 1961, Heitz is one of Napa’s most iconic vineyard. It was sold in 2018 to the Lawrence Family and Carlton McCoy Jr. — who also own Napa’s Stony Hill and Burgess — and was closed for renovations until last month.

Heitz Wine Tasting

Until recently Heitz Cellar was one of the last remaining Napa Valley wineries to offer free tastings of its wines, which include the esteemed Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. But now all that has changed with the edition of its new $1,000 experience.

Those wishing to indulge in a slightly less pricey experience while enjoying the stellar wine of Heitz can opt for the winery’s Timeless Experience for $125 per person, which includes a selection of single-vineyard Cabernets, paired with cheese and charcuterie.

In December, Iconic Napa Valley winery Mayacamas announced the completion of the Estate Hospitality Center. The rebuild follows the destruction of the old house by the 2017 fires.
